Our Work
Afghans Empowered believes in a bottom-up, and holistic approach that focuses the needs of local communities through the engagement with local leaders and organizations who've served their communities for years. Our partnerships are mutual engagements that focus on highlighting the works of existing projects, and supporting the sustainability of these projects.
01
Together with GOA, we advocate for, and support, Afghan communities in Athens, Greece. Our work seeks to support the capacity of services such as Greek, and English language courses, computer skills classes, sewing circles, health advocacy, and legal services. Through this partnership, we educate communities to build solidarity with Afghan-nationals seeking asylum in Greece, and the European Union.
02
As technical partners, we seek to support the sustainability of Learn Afghan’s maternal healthcare, and digital literacy projects in Kandahar, Afghanistan and other provinces.
03
We’re working with the Latina Muslim Foundation to bring awareness to, and support for, Afghan-nationals seeking asylum to the United States via the U.S.-Mexico border. Our role supports linguistic services and humanitarian aid, as well as referral to legal aid services.
